Costa Rica – Jessica & Ryan

I had the pleasure of traveling to Costa Rica for Jessica and Ryan’s wedding. I accompanied the most delightful group of people. Jessica and Ryan’s friends and family made me feel instantly welcome. It was truly, truly, truly a pleasure to shoot their wedding in such a beautiful location and make so many new friends.

Jessica and Ryan, you know how I feel about you. You KNOW.

Hugs,
Smash

When a wedding photographer gets married.

Lots of other wedding photographers show up with cameras. We really can’t help ourselves. So, when Heather Mabry got married to Mike Banks last weekend in Playa del Carmen, there were six of us shooting. Only Gia was officially in charge but Jennifer Lindberg, Diana M Lott, Stacy Sodolak, Vanessa Escobedo Barba were also in attendance with cameras in hand. It was pretty funny! I can’t wait to see all their photos too. It’s safe to say that Heather and Mike were well documented. Even though maybe we were a little bit of a spectacle ourselves! Maybe….

Big props to Gina from Clink for not only pulling together such an amazing wedding but also being an honorary bridesmaid AND officiating the ceremony!

Alex and Carlo – Napa Valley, CA

Emily and I had the pleasure of photographing our friends’ wedding (we all went to college together) in Napa Valley.   I’ve known Carlo and Alex for years and years.  They are very special people in my life and it was a blast to be a part of their day as well as catch up with old friends.  I was certainly impressed by their attention to detail and selection of food and wine.  So, here are some pics.  I couldn’t even include all of my favorite details because there were too many.  But if you are reading this while planning your wedding, think about personalizing you day.  It’s much more interesting this way.  That’s my wedding advice for the day!

Alex’s sister Alison, husband Craig and daughter Isla came over from Scotland for the festivities.  Isla was suffering from jet lag in this photo.  Poor thing!  She’s still as cute as a button though!
Carlo has always been a snappy dresser.  His wedding day was no exception.  I was loving his purple ensemble:
I’m not going to go into detail about what these “champagne drinks” did to everyone.  I’ll just say this to the caterers:  if you are going to include a shot of vodka in an unassuming glass of champagne, please let the guests know, thank you very much!

Alex and Carlo are foodies and instead of table numbers, they had their favorite restaurants from all over the world.  Clever, indeed!
Speaking of food……
Ted Albracht also shot with me and Emily.  Here he is in action in the vineyard.
I see you Ted!!!

Wedding – Waterford Castle, Ireland

Emily and I traveled to County Waterford for this beautiful wedding. We had an amazing time photographing the wedding and making lots of new friends. Here are my favorites:

The bridesmaid below is Stephanie and I have THREE separate photos of her sleeping in public at different times. She rallied between snoozes to always make sure the party was still hoppin’ (see her in the above photo).

The quote that accompanies the photo below is: “Can you believe this is my wedding?!?!!!” She was having a really great time.

Thank you thank you thank you to Martin and Kristin for bringing us along for your wedding. You know how much fun we had too. There are plenty of pictures floating around of us to prove it!!
